Mark Figueroa
Mark Figueroa is a seasoned music educator, arranger, composer, and designer from Allentown, Pennsylvania. Over the last 14 years, Mark has spent time teaching at every level K-12, and currently works as an elementary school band director and high school Music Theory and Music Production teacher in the Parkland School District (Allentown, PA).
Mark’s musical journey started in Jackson, NJ, under the tutelage of Mr. Bud McCormick. Growing up in a district that supported music and the marching arts, and a family with talented musicians helped Mark forge a path forward in music that was rooted in education.
After leaving New Jersey, Mark went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, where he studied under Andrew Yozviak and Jonathan Fowler. Mark’s passion for the marching arts was further cemented during his time performing in, and eventually instructing, the West Chester University Golden Rams Marching Band. While at West Chester Mark became a member of the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps.
After graduating from West Chester University in 2008, Mark returned to New Jersey, where he worked as a Band Director in the Toms River Regional School District for nine years.
Throughout the years, Mark has worked as an active composer and arranger for various musical groups. Mark’s passion for the marching arts lead him to collaborate and create New Wave Marching Productions, a marching arts show design company specializing in music for marching band, indoor percussion and winds, and much more!
Mark was recently hired to return to the Crossmen in the role of Brass Caption Manager, where he will be in charge of auditioning the 76 member brass section, and designing/implementing the Brass Education program.
Mark resides in Allentown, PA with his wife Allison, and dogs Ollie and Ruby!
